Games won't download / update
Common situations
Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
A game stays Queued | The parallel download limit is reached. Wait for others to finish, or raise Max downloads in Settings. |
"… is open — retrying in …s" | The game is open on the server (or another program holds the file). Close that program — the Console offers a Close button for it. CafeServer retries automatically. |
Download failed: drive full | Free up space with Disk cleanup, or add a package folder on another drive. Then click Retry on the error row. |
"No source found yet (0 peers)" | Nobody is sharing that external-source game yet. Wait; rarely used magnets can be very slow. |
Slow downloads | Check the Download limit in Settings, the café's Internet, and the network card speed on Overview. |
No "Update available" appears | The game is set to Manual: update it by hand or switch to Auto. An expired license also stops automatic updates. |
Version warning (your copy is newer than the catalog) | Your package differs from the catalog. Check it before updating, or run Full Update to bring it back to the catalog version. |
"This folder already belongs to package …" | Each folder can hold only one game. Pick another folder. |
Updated, but workstations still report broken files
- Right-click the game › Full Update to re-check every file on the server.
- On the workstation, let it download the game again (or delete the game files on workstations and re-download).
